12th International Prosthetics and Orthotics Congress

Dear Members, Healthcare Professionals Working in the Field of Prosthetics and Orthotics, Company Representatives, and Dear Students,

On behalf of the Turkish Prosthetics and Orthotics Scientific Association, we are deeply honored and pleased to invite you to the “XII International Prosthetics and Orthotics Congress,” which will be held on 22–24 October 2026 at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, National Will Campus.

Founded in Ankara in 1998, the Turkish Prosthetics and Orthotics Scientific Association aims to organize scientific and educational events such as congresses, symposiums, and courses; to share academic, technological, and clinical developments in the field of prosthetics and orthotics with its members; to support the integration of these developments into patient care and rehabilitation processes; to strengthen national and international collaborations; to encourage academic studies; and to enhance the exchange of knowledge among all professional groups working in the field. The ultimate goal of our Association is to contribute to the development of prosthetic and orthotic rehabilitation in our country in a scientifically grounded, accessible, sustainable, and internationally aligned manner.

This year, we are planning our congress under the theme of “Sustainable Prosthetic and Orthotic Ecosystems” as a comprehensive scientific meeting that brings together scientific knowledge production, technological innovations, clinical experience, educational approaches, and sectoral collaborations. Within the congress, we aim to address developments in the field of prosthetics and orthotics in relation to the concept of sustainability, which has become a necessity of our time; to raise awareness by highlighting the need for sustainable ecosystems; and to strengthen knowledge exchange and cooperation. Discussing this global transformation specifically within the field of prosthetics and orthotics on a scientific basis, transferring it into clinical practice, and developing common approaches for the future are among the main objectives of our congress.

The XII International Prosthetics and Orthotics Congress, organized in line with this vision, will host contributions from many national and international experts. The congress will cover a wide range of ongoing and innovative current topics, including prostheses, orthoses, rehabilitation, education in the field of prosthetics and orthotics, sustainability in prosthetics and orthotics, 3D technologies, microprocessor-controlled prostheses, congenital hand anomalies and treatment approaches, carbon fiber feet, gait and movement analysis, outcome measures and evidence-based practices in amputee rehabilitation, digitalization and autonomous systems, treatment approaches for diabetic foot, orthotic management in cerebral palsy, prosthetic and orthotic applications after earthquakes, project examples, and health coverage systems.

In line with these topics, the congress program will include panels, conferences, scientific sessions, workshops, oral presentations, and poster presentations. Thus, we aim not only to enable participants to follow current scientific knowledge, but also to encourage interaction with experts from different disciplines, the sharing of clinical experiences, on-site evaluation of technological developments, and the development of new collaboration opportunities.

The studies presented at the congress will be published in Turkish Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics Science (TJPOS), the internationally indexed scientific publication of our Association. In this way, scientific contributions will have the opportunity to reach a broader academic audience.
